🌿 Year One in Bloom: Connect to Nature Beautification Project at FWPA 🌿

The Shyan Selah Foundation is proud to celebrate Year 1 of our Connect to Nature Campus Beautification Project at Federal Way Public Academy (FWPA)—a transformative three-year initiative funded by the Port of Seattle’s South King County Community Impact Fund.

This multi-year partnership marks a powerful commitment to both environmental stewardship and youth engagement. In this first year, we’ve teamed up with FWPA’s Gardening Club to plant a vibrant collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, and a Douglas Fir tree around the front of the school—bringing new life, color, and pride to the campus.

The project is more than landscaping; it’s hands-on education and community uplift. Students are actively involved in planning and planting, gaining real-world experience in sustainability, teamwork, and caring for the spaces they learn in every day.

With two more years ahead, we’re just getting started. We look forward to expanding our efforts and deepening the impact throughout South King County.
